Ficremariam brought many welcome greetings for Anton when we first arrived to percussion in New Haven. Enthusiasm, kindness and encouragement. Constant celebration and just plain ole enjoyment of the moment. Dear Ficre's family
I am deeply saddened to hear this sad news. I knew Ficre when he was actively involved in volunteering his time for famine relief efforts in Eritrea in the 1980ies. He was dedicated and hard working. I am shocked at this terrible news. He was so so lively. I thought we had some potential special affinity, but we put off further meetings and now they will not happen. There is a lesson there.
Marjorie and I are available for any, I mean any, way that we can help you and boys deal with this. I wish I had met them, but can try to stand in for throwing a baseball around the yard.
This is a terrible sudden loss, for you and the boys most of all, but also for those of us around who felt his special glow.
