Evangelos "Angelo" Anastasopoulos Obituary
ANASTASOPOULOS, EVANGELOS “ANGELO” Evangelos “Angelo” Anastasopoulos, 79, of East Haven passed away Feb. 16, 2014 in The Connecticut Hospice, Branford. He was the husband of Maria Varsos Anastasopoulos. Mr. Anastasopoulos was born in Evrytania, Greece on March 25, 1934, son of the late Anastasios and Vassiliki Anastasopoulos. He came to this country in 1971 and was involved in the restaurant business in Falls Church, VA. and in New Haven, where he was the owner of Angelo’s Lunch on Orange St. and Charlie’s Place in The Century Building at Church and Grove St. He was a member of St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church. Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Anastasios “Andy” Anastasopoulos of Southington, Dimitrios Anastasopoulos and his wife, Christina Milletti of Buffalo, N. Y. and Basil Anastasopoulos and his wife, Courtney Garza of Westport; and seven grandchildren, Khristina, Enjelika, Stefany, Nicholas, Zazie and Xeni Anastasopoulos and Sydney Meserve. He was predeceased by a brother, Panos Anastosopoulos of Athens, Greece and a sister, Chrysoula Siafakas of New York, N.Y. Friends may call at The Celentano Funeral Home, 424 Elm St. (cor. Dwight), New Haven Thursday (TODAY) from 5 to 8 pm and are invited to attend funeral services at St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church, 480 Racebrook Road, Orange Friday morning at 10:30 am. Interment in Orange Center Cemetery.
