Betty Kubicza Obituary
KUBICZA, BETTY (BABE) Betty (Babe) Kubicza, a life-long resident of Hamden, joined her husband Frank in eternal rest on March 4, 2014. Betty was the youngest of 5 siblings and the last surviving member of the Heg and Kubicza family from her generation. She was born on June 23, 1918, daughter of the late John and Julia Chernisky Heg (Hricz). Retired from Giering Metal, she was a member of St. Stephen, Blessed Sacrament and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parishes; an avid traveler, bowler, card player and member of several senior centers and the Daughters of Isabella. Mother of Frances (Richard) Notaro of North Haven. Her fondest memories were made when gathered around the table and her greatest joy was in her grandchildren and their children: DonnaLynn (Michael) Petrella and daughters Gianna and Isabella; Brenda (Ian) Romeo-Forbes and son Kyle Romeo; and R.J. (Kelly) Notaro and children Audrey and Jack. Also survived by a son Paul Kubicza and family of Cheshire. Predeceased by siblings Mary Breuler, Joseph Heg, Jack Hague, and Anna Bender. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Hamden Health Care for the kind, loving and compassionate care shown to Betty during the later years of her life. Friends may visit with her family at BEECHER & BENNETT FUNERAL HOME, 2300 Whitney Ave, Hamden, on Thursday, March 6, from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM and may attend her Mass at 10:00 AM in Blessed Sacrament Church, Hamden. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Recreation Department, Hamden Health Care, 1270 Sherman Lane, Hamden, CT 06514.
