hENRIETTA Suzio Obituary
SUZIO, HENRIETTA R. Henrietta R. Suzio, 82, wife of the late Leonardo C. Suzio, died on Thursday, March 6, 2014, at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Meriden on December 4, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Henry D. and Josephine (LaMontagne) Altobello. She had resided in Meriden for most of her adult life after she graduated from Westfield High in Mass. and attended Laurel Business School. Mrs. Suzio served many years as a board member at the Meriden Girls Club and was a former board president. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Mrs. Suzio was very active in the Mt. Carmel Home and School Association. Henrietta enjoyed rides to the beach and her trips to Maine. She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law: Cheryl Ann Suzio, and Linda S. and Robert Munson, all of Meriden; three sons and a daughter-in-law: Leonardo H. Suzio of New Haven, Scott P. Suzio, and Henry E. “Ric” and Lisa (Schroer) Suzio, all of Meriden; two sisters, Patricia Altobello of Key West, FL and Suzanne Altobello of Dallas, TX; one brother, Daniel J. and Maureen Altobello of Potomac, Maryland; two brothers-in-law, George Gronback of Smyrna, GA and Lorenzo Suzio of Meriden. She is survived by nine grandchildren: Matthew, Erica, and Lucas Munson; Abby, Elizabeth, Steven, and Carly Suzio; and Ashley and Erik Suzio. She is also survived by several nieces and several nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Steven J. Suzio, and a sister, Lourde Gronback. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be held on Monday, March 10, 2014, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 109 Goodwill Ave, Meriden. Everyone is asked to meet directly at church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call at the John J. Ferry and Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main Street, Meriden on Sunday, March 9th, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Should friends desire, contributions in her memory may be made to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church or to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School, 115 Lewis Ave, Meriden CT 06451, or to a charity of one’s choice. Mrs. Suzio’s family would like to thank her caregiver Shecky Khanbabaeva for the loving care she provided for the past two and a half years.
