Entered into rest at home, March 14, 2014, Pasquale G. Santarcangelo, 96, of New Haven; beloved husband of Anna Rapino Santarcangelo; father of Anthony M. Santarcangelo, Ann P. (Paul) Chouinard and Paul R. (Ellen) Santarcangelo; grandfather of Kristina Santarcangelo and Erik DeWitt; predeceased by a son Peter M. Santarcangelo, sisters Susan Vigliotti, Rose Peluso & Ida Fusco, brothers Fred Santarcangelo & Gabriel Nandi; born Jan. 25, 1918 in New Haven, son of the late Frank & Emelia Petrillo Santarcangelo. Pat served his country in the 102nd Infantry Regiment, Army National Guard Company B on Goffe St. from 1936 to 1939, during the 1938 hurricane, the regular Army Infantry from ‘39 to ‘41 and in the U.S. Army Air Corps from ‘41 to ‘ 42. During war years, he worked at MIT on radar design and then with Igor Sikorsky on helicopter design. He later was a design engineer at Nordon Systems for 20 years. A devout Catholic, Pat was a long time communicant of St. Vincent de Paul Church. Funeral from MARESCA & SONS FUNERAL HOME 592 Chapel Street, Tuesday at 9:15 am.
