Obituary Condolences

BANKS, CURTIS “CURT” JAMES, SR. Curtis “Curt” James Banks Sr. of New Haven passed away on March 21, 2014, at Yale–New Haven Hospital at St. Raphael’s. Curtis graduated from Wilbur Cross High School and Albertus Magnus College. Early on in his career he worked in retail management. He then went on to work in real estate and as a paralegal in a New Haven firm. Curtis leaves behind his husband and partner of 22 years, James “Jim” Dwyer; children, Nikisha Banks of GA and Curtis Banks II (Luisa) of FL; and granddaughter, Mia Banks. At the time of his death, Curtis and Jim were caring for their nephew, Brian Pritchett Jr., in their home. Curtis is survived by his mother, Dorothy Banks of New Haven; brothers, Robert (Gertrude) of Bloomfield, William Banks of FL and Bryant (Audrey) of Georgia; sisters, Catherine Calhoun, Catherine James and Lisa Pittman, all of New Haven. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who mourn his passing. A celebration of his life will take place Friday, March 28, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Howard K. Hill Funeral Services, 1287 Chapel St., New Haven, CT 06511, with calling hours at the funeral home from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven.
