Donna Iannuzzi Obituary
IANNUZZI, DONNA DIGENNARO Donna DiGennaro Iannuzzi, 62, of Wallingford, passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2014, at her home surrounded by her loving family after her second courageous battle with cancer. She was the devoted wife of Carmen Iannuzzi. She was born in Meriden, CT, on March 11, 1952, the daughter of the late Anthony and Lucille DeToro DiGennaro. Donna was a graduate of Lyman Hall High School, Class of 1970, and enjoyed working with her classmates planning functions and reuniting so many. After raising her three girls, she went to work for Doctor Paul Gambardella until her retirement in 2008. She retired to become a fulltime “Mimi,” caring for the two lights of her life, her grandchildren Ava and Ty. Cruising with her wonderful husband and spending time with her loving family was what Donna loved to do most. She also loved to lay on the beach and walk around the casino. In addition to her husband Carmen of 39 years, she is survived by her children, Jaime Szyszka and her husband Mark of North Haven, Jennifer Iannuzzi and Sayso Patel of North Haven, Allison Iannuzzi of Wallingford; her cherished grandchildren, Ava and Tyler Szyszka; her brother, Louis DiGennaro and his wife Debbie of Meriden; her in-laws, Cosimo Iannuzzi and his wife Doreen of Wallingford and Nicolina (Mrs. Arnold) Jandreau of Wallingford, Victor Iannuzzi and Flora of Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., Wallingford. Funeral services will be held Thursday directly at Most Holy Trinity Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery in Wallingford. In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory may be sent to the Sister’s Project, PO Box 1643, Wallingford, CT 06492. www.wallingfordfh.com
