Edward Curello Obituary
CURELLO, EDWARD A. Edward A. Curello, 81, former longtime resident of New Haven, CT, passed away Monday, March 31, 2014, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA. Ed was born on Jan. 5, 1933, the son of the late Salvatore and Mafalda (Macri) Curello. He attended local schools and excelled in all sports. During the Korean War, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps. and served with valor and was honorably discharged in 1954. Upon returning home he worked for Plasticrete Block Plant for 39 years, retiring in 1992. He loved to travel and especially enjoyed his trips to East Beach, RI for clamming. He maintained his love for physical actively well into his later years. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Margaret Rutledge Curello; sons Edward A. Curello Jr. and wife Lynn, and Mark Curello and wife Darlene; daughter Joanne and husband Ralph Cuomo; two stepchildren, Adrienne Ramadon and husband Lawrence Donovan, and Raymond Ramadon and wife Samantha. He was a loving poppie to Nicholas Curello, Faith Ramadon and Henry and Jacob Donovan. He was predeceased by his brother John Cucurello. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, April 12 at 9:30 a.m. in St. Anthony’s Church, 70 Washington Ave., New Haven. Military honors will follow. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, 4899 Belfort Rd., Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256; or to any VA Medical Center.
