O’CONNOR, THOMAS MICHAEL Thomas Michael O’Connor, 64, of West Haven, beloved husband of Patricia passed away, on May 1, 2014, surrounded by his family. He leaves behind his two sons James (Kathleen) and Brian (Mercedes), grandfather to three precious girls Rachael, Morgan and Angelina. Also survived by his sisters, Eileen Massa, Kathleen Seewald, Roseann Budd, Bernadette Harbour, and many other loving family members. He was predeceased by his parents, Mary and Thomas O’Connor and his brother James. Tom was born August 13, 1949, in Elmhurst, New York. Tom graduated from John Adams High School in Ozone Park, Queens , and from the Culinary Institute of America. Prior to his retirement, he was an accredited Chef and also worked at Carpenter Steel. Throughout his life, he was a Little League coach, Scout leader and in his later years, he was very active in the West Haven Irish American Club and West Haven Fireworks Committee. Tom was a lifetime New York Yankees fan and also loved UCONN basketball. His family would like to thank the very dedicated staff of Yale New Haven Hospitals MICU for the wonderful care given to Tom during his stay. Visitation will take place Monday from 4 to 8pm at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. His funeral procession will leave the funeral home Tuesday morning at 10:30 for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 in St. Lawrence Church. In accordance with his wishes, Tom will be cremated.
