KYEK, JOSEPH P. (POPPA) Joseph P. Kyek (Poppa), age 85, died peacefully at home with family by his side. He was born in Duryea, PA on March 18, 1929, to the late Stanley and Stephanie Kyek. He was beloved husband of the late Theresa (Terri) Ann Kyek, who predeceased him in 2001.Joseph graduated Stamford High School in 1947, before proudly joining the US Army and serving his country in the Korean War. He was a hard working father, a Stamford Police Sargeant, who also worked as a painter with his partner from the police force, Michael Docimo. He was a lifelong member of the Holy Name Athletic Club and for many years he enjoyed working at The Clearwater House on Atlantic St. where he was loved by everyone. He was the best father a boy could ever want, as he almost always made it to his kids baseball games, and even found time to go trout fishing. Poppa really enjoyed watching a Yankee game with a cold beer in his hand. He will be greatly missed by his children, grandchildren, family and friends. He is survived by his children, Joseph P.(and Vivian) Kyek Jr.,Michael S.(and Joann) Kyek, Gregory T.(and Remi) Kyek, Steven M. Kyek and Theresa A. Kyek; grandchildren, Matthew Kyek, Jason Kyek, Joseph M. Kyek, Rosa T. Kyek (Fernandes), Stephanie N. Kyek, Christopher J. Kyek, Dylan M. Kyek, Joanna M. Kyek, Angel M.Kyek; and a great granddaughter, Isabella. Family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, May 19th from 4pm to 8pm at the Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Avenue, Stamford, CT. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 20th at 11am at Holy Name of Jesus Church, 369 Washington Blvd, in Stamford, CT. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery, 66 Woodland Place, in Stamford, CT. The Kyek family has entrusted the funeral arrangements to Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Avenue, Stamford, CT.
