Harold Setzer Obituary
SETZER, MAJOR HAROLD (HASKEL) L. Major Harold (Haskel) Leroy Setzer, son of the late Glenn Setzer, Sr., and Mary Lawrence Setzer Whittle, born November 12, 1931 in New Haven, CT entered into eternal rest on May 22, 2014 in San Jose, CA. Loving memories will be cherished by his children; Harold David Setzer of New Haven and LaChelle Setzer Mullins (Thomas) of NC; grandchildren, David D. Setzer and Madison Mullins; sister, Constance R. Setzer of New Haven; sister-in-law, Catherine Setzer of SC and a host of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Major Setzer served his country in both the US Air Force and the US Army where he achieved the rank of Major and retired after 21 years of service. He served during the Korean War with the US Air Force and two tours in Vietnam with the US Army where he was awarded a Bronze Star. He received his BS Degree from Hampton University and served as the Army Officer Commission in their ROTC program. He was also a member of Omega Psi Phi, Fraternity, Inc. Harold was a member of the All State football team when he attended West Haven High School. A celebration of his life will take place on Friday, June 13, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Howard K. Hill Funeral Services, 1287 Chapel Street, New Haven with a calling hour Friday at the funeral home from 10-11:00 AM. Interment with Military honors will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven.
