CAVALLARO, PATRICIA “PATTI” Patricia “Patti” Riley Cruz Cavallaro, 72, of Port St. Lucie, FL, died May 26, 2014 peacefully at St. Lucie Hospice House in Ft. Pierce, FL after a short illness. Originally from Connecticut, where she lived until 1998 prior to moving to Deerfield Beach, Florida, Patti was born March 28, 1942 in Norwich, CT, the daughter of the late Anna M. and Francis T. Riley. Patti was a graduate of Wilbur Cross High School in New Haven, CT. Early in her career she had a variety of professions including banking, real estate, insurance and sales. She was married to the late James A. “Buddy” Cavallaro of New Haven, CT, who retired to Florida with Patti after owning The Old Heidelberg Restaurant in New Haven for 23 years, where Patti enjoyed working with her husband for many years. Later in her career Patti was very fulfilled working in the health care profession as a CNA in Florida up until her recent illness. Patti was previously married to the late Manuel J. “Manny” “Junnie” Cruz, Jr. Patti was a member of St. Bernadette Church in Florida. She is survived by two daughters, Pamela A. Cruz of New York, NY and Michele B. Davidson of Port St. Lucie, FL, as well as Pamela’s partner, Peter Woit. She is also survived by her sister, Anne R. Leavitt and brother-in-law, Robert Leavitt, Sr. of Port St. Lucie, Florida, and three loving grandchildren, Alexandria M. Barron and Lauren T. Barron of Guilford, CT and Mitchell A. Coutts and his fiancée Renée Paul of Inkster, MI and loving nieces, nephews, cousins and their families. She is the sister of the late Francis T. Riley, Jr. of CT. Patti’s arrangements are in care of the IOVANNE FUNERAL HOME, INC. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, June 21, 2014, at 10am in St. Michael’s Church. Burial will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
