Mary Fisher Obituary
FISHER, MARY (MUZ) Mary Fisher, of Durham, died peacefully on Friday July 11. She was the mother of Deborah Packer (husband James) of Ft. Pierce, FL, Richard Durant of Easthampton, MA, Janet Swanson (husband Kurt) of Branford, Penny Smith (husband Brian) of North Branford, and Kyle Durant of Madison. She was predeceased by her son, Brian Durant. She was the sister of Jack Fisher, Gerald Fisher (wife Renee), Gene Fisher (wife Anne), Kathleen Fisher and Virginia Wilson. She was also survived by 10 grandchildren. Mary was born in Worcester, MA on October 9, 1935, a daughter of Gerald and Virginia Scanlon Fisher. She was formerly a resident of Guilford, Madison, and East Haven. She graduated from Quinnipiac University with a degree in Nursing and was a Registered Nurse at Yale New Haven Hospital and the Hospital of St. Raphael. She was most recently a Nurse Educator for the State of Connecticut where she promoted healing with humor. She was a longtime softball coach for the Foxon Recreation League, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan. A memorial wake will be held on Tuesday from 4-7 P.M. at the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St. Branford. Burial will be private.
