Obituary Condolences

LENDROTH, CHARLES “CHICK” Charles “Chick” Lendroth, 64, of West Haven, loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, nephew, and dedicated Scout Master, died peacefully, Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at the Village Green Nursing Facility in Wallingford, after a short illness. He was born in New Haven, June 7, 1950, a son of the late Frederick and Teresa Predom Lendroth. Chick had formerly been employed as a machinist/fabricator with Promoco of West Haven for many years. He is survived by two sons, Jeffrey (Debra Friello-Lendroth) Lendroth, of East Haven, and Michael (Melisa Fischer) Lendroth, of West Haven; three cherished grandchildren, Camryn and Seralyn Lendroth, and Cameron Fischer. He also leaves a brother, Frederick A. (Diane) Lendroth, of Oxford, CT; a sister, Nora (Brian McMullen) Jacobson, of West Haven; an aunt, Alice Lendroth Grodske, of North Branford; several nieces and nephews, many cousins, and his dear cats, Morris and Maggie. He was predeceased by his dear, long-time friend and companion, Tammy Daury. Chick dedicated over 39 years of his life to The Boy Scouts of America. The much loved and respected Scout Master of Troop 202, West Haven, he was a member of the Order of the Arrow, Vigil, taking the name Achgook Pemsit “Snake Walker”. He also enjoyed the outdoors, camping, drag racing, NASCAR, and duck pin bowling. Family and friends are invited to call at the Keenan Funeral Home, 238 Elm Street, West Haven, Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. A service of prayer and shared memories will be held at 7:30. Burial in Beaverdale Memorial Park will be private. In Lieu of flowers, donations in Chick’s memory should be sent to Troop 802, c/o Scott Silver, Treasurer, 3 Annawon Avenue, West Haven, CT 06516.
