PENDLETON, DORIS F. In Branford September 28, 2010, Doris Fitch Pendleton, wife of the late John S. Pendleton, Jr. of Oakdale Rd., Branford. Mother of Victor Pendleton of Yuba City, CA, and Craig and Brian Pendleton, both of Branford. Also survived by 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Predeceased by a son, John S. Pendleton, III; a daughter, Michelle Lawrence; and her sister Carolyn Evans. Mrs. Pendleton was born February 25, 1922 in Newark, NJ, a daughter of the late Victor W. and Esther Gallmeyer Fitch. She grew up in Northampton, MA and she attended Smith College and Hood College. She worked as a nurse's aide for many years. She was a longtime volunteer for the American Red Cross Blood Drive in Branford. She enjoyed playing bridge, liked to travel, and was devoted to her family. Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Service Saturday morning at 11:00 in the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 504 Main St., Branford. There are no calling hours.
