Harriet Lamb Obituary
LAMB, HARRIET Harriet Lamb, age 98, of Wallingford, formerly of West Haven for over 70 years, passed away on March 9, 2011. Harriet was the wife for over 62 years of Merle H. Lamb before his death in 2001. She was the mother of Alice Graves of Wallingford & the late Louise L. Hamilton; grandmother of Wayne Hamilton & his wife Rosemarie, Roy Hamilton & his wife Sue, Larry Graves & his wife Lyn, Charles Graves III & his wife Mary, Linda (Barnes) Graves and the late Mark Hamilton. Harriet also leaves 12 great grandchildren & 1 great great grandchild. She was born in Bloomington, IL on Oct. 6, 1912 and was a retired School Teacher from Seth Haley School in West Haven. Harriet was a life long member and deaconess of the First Baptist Church in West Haven, where she devoted her time to the Sunday School Education Board and many mission groups. She was a member of the Ladies Mizpah Circle and served on the CT State Board of the American Baptist Women. She was a 60 year member of Eastern Star Golden Rod Chapter #34 of West Haven, the American Red Cross for over 30 years on many Boards there and recipient of many awards and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Friends may visit with her family on Monday March 14, 2011 from 9:00 to 10:30 am at BEECHER & BENNETT - TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME, 410 Campbell Ave, West Haven. Her Funeral Service will begin at 10:30am in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, West Haven. In lieu of flowers contributions in her memory may be made to the American Red Cross, 703 Whitney Ave., # 6, New Haven, CT 06511.
