DELMONACO, JOHN John DelMonaco, 66, of Melbourne, Fl, formerly of Branford passed away April 27, 2011 at Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale New Haven after a brief illness, John was born January 1, 1945 in Valle di Maddaloni, Caserta, Italy and immigrated to the United States in 1960. He was predeceased by his parents, Antonio and Stella DelMonaco and his brother Giuseppe DelMonaco. He leaves behind his sisters Concetta (Giuseppe) Fappiano and Vittoria (Silvio) Suppa; nieces, Lisa (Edward) Varipapa and Stella (Ala) Haddadin; nephews, Ilario (Gina) Suppa, Antonio (Marie) Suppa, Joseph (Angela) Suppa, 8 great nieces and nephews, and long time and much loved friend Angela Minutillo. Additionally, he leaves his beloved fianc Ann Cushion and her daughter Rachel. He will be sadly missed by his friends Nick Iovanne, John Balletto, Dan Harvey, Lou Rodriguez, and Steve Campos. John founded DelMonaco's Restaurant in 1972 and later owned and operated Valentino's Restaurant, Cornel Lips Pub, and the Palms Restaurant. The family would like to thank the staff at Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale New Haven for the outstanding care and compassion shown to John and his family during his treatment and stay there. Funeral from the IOVANNE FUNERAL HOME INC. 11 Wooster Place Monday morning at 9:30. Mass of Christian burial in St. Anthony's Church at 10. Entombment in All Saints Mausoleum.
