Denton, Walter F. Walter F. Denton, age 80 of Madison passed away on December 17, 2011 at the Village Green Rehabilitation Center in Wallingford, CT. Walter was born in New York, New York on June 9, 1931. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Frank Denton. Walter is survived by his beloved wife of 26 years Phyllis (Slowinski) Denton of Madison; brother Arthur Denton and his wife Aurea of Sarasota, Florida; sister-in-law Bernadette Denton of Clearwater, Florida as well as 3 nieces and 1 nephew. Walter will also be missed by his dear friend Elizabeth Ciarlelli. Walter left high school early to join the U.S. Army. He was stationed in Germany during the Korean War. After earning an Honorable Discharge from the Army, with help from the G.I. Bill, he went on to attend New York University where he graduated with a Bachelors Degree in business and management. Upon graduation, Walter worked for The Rockefeller Foundation in New York City. He also worked for Heritage Village in Southbury, CT., and then built a career working in local government ultimately retiring as the Personnel Director for the Town of Hamden. Friends may pay their respects at Swan Funeral Home, 825 Boston Post Rd., Madison on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 from 9:00am until 10:00am. A prayer service will follow at 10:00am. A military burial will take place at The Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA at 2:00pm that afternoon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The
