BENEDETTO, SALVATORE R. Salvatore R. Benedetto age 87 of Milford passed away peacefully at his home Monday, December 20th surrounded by his loving family and the wonderful compassion and care of Hospice which allowed Sal to die with dignity and in the comfort of his own home. Salvatore was born January 8, 1924 in New Haven, Ct. to the late Joseph Benedetto and Anna Napoli Benedetto. Sal owned and operated John and Sal's Beauty Salon in New Haven which was voted #1 Beauty Salon in New Haven, CT. during the early 1960's till he opened his own restaurant known as the Italian Villa with family, located at Savin Rock, West Haven, CT. then later relocated to Campbell Avenue, West Haven. Sal was sole proprietor of Sal's Beauty Salon located downtown Milford, CT for several years before becoming a Broker with ERA Property World formally Arnold Peck Realty in Milford, CT. Sal was an avid Golfer and had a great love for cooking and watching football. Sal is survived by his sons, Ronald, Richard, Robert (Gail Morrisey Benedetto), Randy (Jean Rubino Benedetto) and Raymond along with seven grandchildren, Ronnie, Derek, Kara, Carly, Randy, Lisa and Ryan and great-grandfather to Michael and Ryan along with several nieces and nephews and his brother Joseph Benedetto of Flower Mound, Texas. Sal was predeceased by his loving wife Theresa McKenna Benedetto, his brothers Jack and Frank Benedetto and Sister Jean Benedetto Curzi plus two daughters-in-law, Kathy Murray Benedetto and Christine Fitzsimmons Benedetto. The family would like to acknowledge a special appreciation to Sal's youngest son & caregiver, Raymond who held Sal's hand as he peacefully passed away. A special thank you to the entire staff of Milford Dialysis Center for all their loving care and support. Friends and family are invited to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, December 28th, 11:00 AM at the Holy Infant Church, Racebrook Road, Orange, CT., followed by burial at Saint Lawrence Cemetery, Forest Road, West Haven.
