Carvalho, Joseph M. Entered into rest on March 28, 2012, Joseph M. Carvalho, 83, beloved husband for 61 years to Madelyn D'Acunto Carvalho of Wallingford & formerly of the Fair Haven section of New Haven. He was born on Sept. 25, 1928, in Mt. Vernon, NY, son of the late Joseph Sr. & Mary Leonardo Carvalho; besides his wife he is survived by his three daughters; Charlene & JoAnn Carvalho of Wfd.; & Nancy (Gerard Sr.) Considine of Hamden; grandfather of Gerard Jr. (Katherine), Frank (Jacqueline), & Steven (Caitlin) Considine; also survived by six great-grandchildren; brother of David (Mary) & John (Fern) Carvalho & several nieces & nephews. Prior to his retirement in 2001, he was employed as a tool maker for Durol & Co. in Hamden. He was a member of the CT. National Guard & was a Master Sergeant in the US Army with the 43rd Infantry Division in Korea & Germany. Joe was a long time parishioner of St. Francis Church in NH, serving as an usher, & as a member of the choir & the Holy Name Society; and along with his family received the HOPES Award for the many years of volunteer work during the Christmas Bazaar and Strawberry Festival. In his spare time he enjoyed going on vacations with his family, camping, woodworking, reading, & was an avid ballroom dancer for many years. Funeral from MARESCA & SONS FUNERAL HOME 592 CHAPEL ST. NEW HAVEN, Saturday at 9:15 am. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Francis Church at 10:00. Interment with full military honors in All Saints Cemetery.
