DeFILIPPO, VINCENT, JR. Vincent DeFilippo, Jr. age, 79, of Shelton went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He is the devoted husband of 55 years to Ann Greco DeFilippo. Mr. DeFilippo was born in Derby on Aug. 13, 1932, son of the late Vincent and Anna (Antonucci) DeFilippo, Sr. and was a Shelton resident his entire life. An excellent 4 year varsity football player at Shelton High School, he went on to serve his country in the US Army during the Korean War. Vincent owned and operated D& D Motors of Milford for many years until his retirement. His hobbies included collecting and restoring antique cars, building race cars and racing at Savin Rock and Riverside Speedways. He and his wife loved to travel especially to their vacation home in Vermont. A devout Christian, he attended the The New Life Christian Fellowship Church in Trumbull. He enjoyed attending local youth sporting events, especially if a family member was participating. He is the beloved father of Cheryl Cicerchia and her husband, Robert, Donna Bowerman and her husband, Darryl and Bonnie Sitsis and her husband, Kostas. The brother of Joseph DeFilippo, Salvatore DeFilippo, Martha Bova,and the late Louis, Michael, and Paul DeFilippo. The cherished grandfather of Melissa and Jessica Cicerchia, Matthew and Michelle Bowerman and Yanni and Sophia Sitsis. He also leaves numerous nieces and nephews. Calling Hours will be held on Sunday from 3 to 6 PM in the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton. Friends and family are invited to go directly to the New Life Christian Fellowship Church, 28 Hedgehog Road, Trumbull for his funeral service on Monday at 10:00 AM. Burial with full military honors will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Shelton.
