WHITE, DR. ALAN J. Dr. Alan J. White, 70, of Canterbury Rd., Hamden, CT., devoted husband of Sandra (Hurst) White, died at Yale-New Haven Hospital on Thursday, June 28, 2012. Born in Brockton, MA, Jan. 8, 1942, he was the son of the late Louis & Fannie (Ginsberg) White. Beloved father of Dr. Jonathan (Leslie) White of Cheshire, CT & Dr. Sarah(Stephanie Berrocal) White of Woodbridge, VA. Cherished grandfather of Nathaniel White & Janessa White. Dr. White received an A.B. degree in 1963 from Harvard College, an M.A. in 1964 from Harvard University, and later his Ph.d in Gifted Education from the University of CT. Prior to obtaining his Phd., Dr. White was a Teacher of the Gifted in the Brockton, MA School System. He was the Director of Gifted Education for the Cherry Hill, N.J. School System and then upon his return to Connecticut, he served as a Consultant for Gifted Education for the State of CT Dept. of Education. Funeral Services at Temple Beth Sholom, 1809 Whitney Ave., Hamden, CT, SUNDAY at 12:00 o'clock NOON, with Interment Services to follow at the Temple Beth Sholom section of Walnut Grove Cemetery, Meriden, CT. Visitation with the family will begin at 11:00 o'clock. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Anna & Joseph Fishman Fund for Synagogue Music @ Temple Beth Sholom. A Period of Mourning will be observed at 57 Canterbury Rd., Hamden thru Tuesday, 1p.m.-3p.m. & 6:30p.m.-8:30p.m. Funeral Arrangements in care of Robert E.
