LENAHAN, MICHAEL J. Michael J. Lenahan, age 87, of Milford, beloved husband for 62 years, to the late Margaret "Greta" Egan Lenahan, entered into eternal rest on December 3, 2012. Born on July 31, 1925 in New Haven, he was the son of the late Patrick J. and Mary Sullivan Lenahan. He enlisted in the service upon graduation from Hillhouse HS and proudly served his country in WWII as a Staff Sergeant in the US Army Air Corps, 8th Air Force. He was a nose gunner on the B24 Ole King Cole. He recently traveled to Washington, DC to see the WWII Memorial as part of the Honor Flights Network. Michael was a graduate of the Junior College of Commerce, predecessor to Quinnipiac University where he subsequently graduated in 1997. He has been credited with starting their hockey program and became the 1st captain in 1946. Prior to his retirement, Mike was employed with First Bank and CT Savings Bank with a long history of banking in New Haven. Mike was lovingly engaged in all family matters and a devoted fan of any sport or endeavor his children or grandchildren were involved in. Mike coached many teams and was a founding member of the Greater New Haven Peewee Hockey Association. He was a member of the Knights of St Patrick's, Knights of Columbus, a leader of the Hillhouse Class of '43 and all its reunions, Treasurer of his condominium association, an active member of the Civitan organization, active in Orange Little League Baseball, and an active member of the finance committees of St. Mary's and Holy Infant Churches. A late in life avocation which he thoroughly enjoyed was his participation in ROMEO (Retired Old Men Eating Out). His friendship and camaraderie with fellow ROMEOs at their weekly luncheons brought him great joy, intellectual stimulation and the food was always good, too. He leaves five children, Paul (Karen) of North Attleboro, MA; James (Betsy) of McDonough, GA; Thomas (Carol) of Wallingford; Kathryn (Robert) Hurley, and David, of Milford. He also leaves eleven grandchildren: Julie and Karen, Sean and Brooke, Andrew and Kimberly, Brady, Margaret, and Clay Lenahan, and Sean and Connor Hurley; brother in law L.
