Obituary Condolences

DILLMAN, JAMES MICHAEL James Michael Dillman, 68, of Mansfield Center, husband of Mary Carofano Dillman, died Tuesday, February 26, 2013. He was born in West Haven, CT, the son of Warren Dillman and Ruth Currie. Jim graduated from West Haven High School and the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science degrees in Education. He taught Physical Education at the Mansfield Middle School for 35 years. Besides his wife, Mary, of 46 years, he is survived by their three children, Meridith of Rochester, NY, Michael and Maris of Coventry, CT, a daughter-in-law, Lena Dillman and two grandchildren, Jackson James and Ayanna Marley; his brother, Warren and his wife JoAnn, his brother in law Ralph, sisters in law, Helen, JoAnn and Roberta, as well as several nieces and nephews and his best friend, Peter Cavagnaro. Jim loved coaching soccer, track and field, landscaping, gardening and meeting new people. He will be greatly missed by his family, former students and faculty friends from the Middle School. The family will receive relatives and friends at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson Street (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Sunday, March 3, 2013 between 2:00 and 5:00 P.M. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson Street, Willimantic on Monday at 11:00am with assembly in the church parking area at 10:45am. The burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Club Road, Windham. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Covenant Soup Kitchen, 220 Valley Street Willimantic, CT 06226.
