Obituary Condolences

BURNS, GEORGE R., III George R. Burns, III age 49 of Oakville, formerly of Orange entered into peaceful rest at his home with his devoted, caring wife by his side on March 13, 2013. He was the beloved husband of Sarah (Smith) (DiFiore) Burns. Mr. Burns was born September 6, 1963 in New Haven, loving son of George R., Jr. and Ann C. (Cowan) Burns of Orange. He leaves a sister, Kelley Meadows and her husband Eric Volkmann of Green Oaks, IL., a brother, Edward S. Burns, and his wife Lisa of W. Haven, his nieces and nephew, Amanda (his god-daughter), Gerald, and Cynthia Burns of W. Haven. He was employed by Dichello Distributors of Orange where he was a Shop Steward and proud member of the Teamsters Local 443. George enjoyed his vegetable garden, watching migrant birds arrive, and was a Boston Red Sox Fan; he also liked the Chicago Bulls and Bears. Throughout his illness, George's favorite cat, Papelbon, stayed beside his side at all times. In addition to his wife, parents, siblings, nieces and nephew, George leaves his loving step-children, Alexander and Alison DiFiore of Oakville, his in-laws, his mother-in-law, Nancy Smith of Wethersfield, sister-in-law, Jane Johnson of Middletown, nephews and niece, FCPO Michael Johnson of San Diego, CA, Brian, and Shelby Johnson of Middletown, and a special family friend, George Feroleto of Singer Island, FL. Calling Hours are Friday from 4:00 to 8:00p.m. in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St., Seymour.
