Joseph A. Castellano Obituary
CASTELLANO, JOSEPH A. Joseph A. Castellano, 95, of Branford, husband of the late Maria Federico Mendillo Castellano passed away on April 10, 2013 in Yale New Haven Hospital. Stepfather of the late Michael Mendillo. Brother of the late Margaret Farina, Anne Onorato, Mary Clipson, Angelo, Peter, Anthony and Louis Castellano. Joseph was born in New Haven, son of the late Michael and Assunta Villani Castellano. Grandfather of Michele (Arthur) Beavis, Lori (Robert) Nevola and Lisa (Michael Marusic) Mendillo. Also survived by 5 great grandchildren. Prior to his retirement Joe was employed by Yale University and he also was an Army veteran of WW II and was a recipient of two bronze stars and several decorations and citations. The family of Joseph would like to thank Branford Hills Rehabilitation Center for there special care shown to him. His funeral procession will leave the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte. 80), East Haven, SATURDAY morning at 9:30 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Pompeii Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment with Military Honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Friends may call SATURDAY morning from 8:30 A.M. to 9:30 A.M.
