I am so sorry to hear this news. I was made aware by the invite to the building dedication. I've been going to Dr Lender with my pets since 1995. He was so knowledgeable and kind and had a very calming way about him. My 12 yr old Yorkie and I will miss him. My sincerest sympathies.

Mrs. Lender, I had no idea Dr. Lender had passed away until receiving the notice in the mail about the building dedication. We will never forget your kindness, love and generosity over our sweet girl Molly that went from being your dog to our dog. She eternally connected us for life, including the time we crashed your daughter's wedding :-). You will always have our love and gratitude. I'm so very sorry to hear the news. xoxoxoxoox

To Marilyn and the family.
I am a classmate of Mike's @ OSU '73 and just learned of his passing in JAVMA. Due to my re-entry into military I lost touch with many in the class after graduation but I remember his smile, openness and always willing to help if a classmate was struggling. Back then no beard and he had a clever humor that would catch one off guard from time to time. I am sorry for your loss. I do believe the last time I saw him was @ our 20th reunion.
I do believe our loved ones never truly leave us, they live on in the kindness they showed, the comfort they shared and the love they brought into our lives. May he rest in peace. sf

Just recently learn of Dr. Lender's death. I do not know how to express my sorrow for the staff an his family. He was extremely helpful to me over the years. He not only had my pets as patient, but me. He help me through some very tuff times when my late dog Wolfie was diagnosed with cancer. With his guidance and willingness to work with the Animal Medical Center doctors in New York, Wolfie lived a happy life for an additional 5 years.

We just learned of your loss. Please accept our heartfelt sympathy. We met Dr. Lender back in 2001 when we took our 2 dogs to him and continued taking them to the Orange Vet Hospital. We truly appreciate his care. Please know that even those of us who only knew him in a limited capacity appreciated him very much.

Dear Marilyn and family; Dr Lender gave a young girl who wanted to be a veterinarian a chance to work as kennel help in his practice in 1969. Little did he or I know it that it would be instrumental in my future career as a certified veterinary technician and agricultural lender. I can not be there tomorrow for his services as I cannot find a replacement for me as a steward at the Green Mountain Dog Show (a show circuit that is celebrating it 40th year). Dr Lender I think would understand. My thoughts are with you at this difficult time. He was an amazing man, an excellent veterinarian and a person who is in part responsible for who I am to today and for the success I have had in my careers. Michael Lender will be missed by many of us.

Many many years ago, Dr Lender met me at the Orange Veterinary Hospital at 3 AM to treat my dog who had life-threatening Encephalitis. I have never forgotten his kindness and dedication. He saved the dogs life. I have seen many vets since then and have never ever come across another who cared as much as he did. He was a credit to his profession and a kind and decent man. May he rest in peace.
