STERNBERG, CLAIRE Mrs. Claire (Schwartz) Sternberg of Antioch, California formerly of Milford, CT and Derby, CT, died peacefully on June 28th, 2013 at her home in Antioch, California. Claire was born in New York City on November 9th, 1926 and grew up in NYC. Daughter of the late Alexander and Toney Schwartz and sister of Sheldon Schwartz of Torrance, California. Claire attended Rider College in Trenton, NJ where she met her husband Jerome Edward Sternberg and was married on November 30, 1946. They were married almost 60 years until Jerry's death in May of 2005. Claire worked for the Milford Board of Education for 25 years as a secretary to the Superintendent, Point Beach School and Calf Pen Meadow. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, knitting, golfing, playing her weekly mahjong and bridge games, loved playing the slots at the casino, a worldly traveler, and an avid reader. Claire spent her retirement years with her husband in Lake Worth, Florida during the winter months. She leaves her children, Deborah DuBrow and her husband Michael DuBrow of Rio Vista, California and Francie Parness of Northford, CT; her grandchildren, Alissa Meltzer and her husband Jonathan, Eric DuBrow and his wife Meredith, Alan DuBrow and wife Kim and Steven DuBrow, David Parness and fiancee Brenda Tracey, Todd Parness and his wife Paige and Jennifer Parness; great-grandchilden Jeremy and Julia Meltzer, Joshua and Jake DuBrow, Scott DuBrow and Adam, Alex and Samantha DuBrow. Beth Israel Memorial Chapel Funeral services will be held on July 17th at the Eternal Light Cemetery in Boynton Beach, Florida. A Memorial service will be held on July 18th at Temple Beth Sholom, 1809 Whitney Ave., Hamden, CT at 11 am. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation at , P.O.
