Anthony Frank DeLucia Sr. Obituary
DeLucia, Anthony F. "TUT", Sr. Anthony Frank "Tut" DeLucia, Sr., 93 of Hamden, died Thursday, July 11, 2013 at Yale-New Haven Hospital after a short illness. He was the beloved husband of the late Antonette D'Ambrosio DeLucia. Mr. DeLucia was born in the Highwood section of Hamden on March 18, 1920, a son of the late James and Victoria Melillo DeLucia and was a lifelong Hamden resident. Along with his wife, Mr. DeLucia started the former Yale Concrete Company of New Haven where he worked for fifty years, retiring in 1995. Mr. DeLucia was a proud WWII Army Veteran, and served as a Master Drill Sergeant at Ft. Devens, MA, and then was with the 709th Military Police Battalion at the Camp Edwards Allied Prison Camp in Falmouth, MA. The DeLucia family wishes to extend their sincerest heartfelt thanks to the entire medical staff at Yale-New Haven Hospital L6-7E for all the loving attention and care given to Mr. DeLucia. Mr. DeLucia is survived by his son, Anthony F. DeLucia, Jr. and his wife Carmella of Hamden, a sister, Pauline Cerrotti of Hamden, and two grandchildren, Tina Sabino and her husband Jason of Wallingford, and Anthony F. DeLucia, III and his wife Katie Kaufmann of Brooklyn, NY. He is predeceased by a sister, Rose DeGennaro, and three brothers, Andrew, Frank and Peter DeLucia. Mr. DeLucia's family will receive relatives and friends on Monday from 8:15 to 10:15 a.m. at the Torello-Iacobucci Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. His funeral procession will leave from the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 2819 Whitney Ave., Hamden. Burial with military honors will follow in Beaverdale Memorial Park, Hamden. Memorial contributions in Mr. DeLucia's name may be sent to the , P.O.
