BEIMLER, Raymond Irving Raymond "Uncle Sonny" Irving Beimler, age 85, of Hamden passed away in Glastonbury on August 26, 2013 with his loving family by his side. Born in New Haven on August 1, 1928, he was the son of the late Raymond and Lillian (Steves) Beimler. He was the devoted husband of Patricia A. Burkhardt Beimler for 57 years. Besides his wife Raymond is survived by his sons, Fredrick Beimler & his wife Nancy of Manchester, CT and Kenneth Beimler & his wife Sandra of Plymouth, IN. He is the proud and loving grandfather of Michael Wilson, Steven, Kelley, Matthew, Carrie, Andrew and Eric Beimler. Raymond was the brother of William Beimler & his wife Nancy of South Dennis, MA and Sandra McManus & her husband John of Branford, CT. He was predeceased by his infant granddaughter, Montana, his sister Marjorie Beimler Tomlinson and his brother- in-law Harold Tomlinson. He was a graduate of Hillhouse High School and retired as Production Manager for The Mite Corporation (formerly Greist Mfg. Co.). He served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. A lifelong member of the Whitneyville United Church of Christ, Raymond served as a Deacon, participated on many committees and was a member of their choir. He was a member of the Hiram Lodge #1, AF & AM, a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Sphinx Temple Shriners. An avid sports enthusiast, he was a devoted Boston Red Sox fan. Family and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Saturday, August 31, at 9:30 AM in the Whitneyville United Church of Christ, 1253 Whitney Ave., Hamden. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Beaverdale Memorial Park, Section G, in Hamden. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Raymond's memory may be made to the , So. Central Chapter, 2911 Dixwell Ave., Suite 205, Hamden, CT 06518.
