PERRY, DORIS MARIE KEEGAN Doris M. Perry, 94, of New Haven, formerly of West Haven, passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at CT Hospice. She was the wife of the late Anthony A. Perry. Mother of Leslie (Vincent) Rascati & retired Allingtown firefighter, John Anthony (Helen) Perry. Sister of Edward Keegan & the late Leslie & John Keegan, Margaret Joy, Irma "Sweet" Twohill & Lillian Vitale. Also survived by 3 grandchildren John Anthony Perry Jr. and his wife, Erin, Megan E. Perry and her fianc, Joel Laub, Susan-Anne Rascati Bailey and her husband Nathan & 4 great grandchildren, Anthony John, Mia Isabel & Connor John Perry and Joel Perry Laub. During WWII she worked as a welder for American Tube Bending Company and was captain of their first girls' softball team. An active resident of West Haven, she served over 12 years as Councilwoman representing the 5th District, served 20 years on the Democratic Town Committee and was a member of the former Democratic Women's Club. She was the first Commissioner to be appointed to the Inland Wetland Water Committee. She served on various committees including 4 years as chairwoman for the Tax Abatement Committee and 6 years on the Health & Welfare Safety Committee. She was a member of the St. Paul's Ladies Guild and a member of the 315 Club at Bella Vista. The family would like to offer special thanks to Dr. Leo Cooney and the staff at the Adler Center and the Arden House for the warm and compassionate care shown to our mother. Visitation will take place Saturday morning from 8:30 to 10:00 at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Paul's Church at 10:30. Interment will be in Beaverdale Memorial Park, New Haven.
