san giorgio, louis (st. george) Louis San Giorgio (St. George), 90, of New Haven, CT, died on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Marie Beatrice (Arsenault) St. George. He was born on September 4, 1923 in New Haven, CT, a son of the late John and Antonetta (Stefano) San Giorgio. Prior to his retirement at Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford, CT as an industrial engineer, he was employed by Manning Maxwell & Moore and BF Goodrich. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in World War II as a Sargent and was deployed to the European Theater. He enlisted on 19 Mar 1943 which was the same month and day when his father enlisted in WWI. He was awarded the Purple Heart for combat. He attended James Hillhouse High School and Paier School of Art. He was a parishioner at The Church of the Assumption in Woodbridge, CT. He loved his family, art and big band music. He took art classes at Southern Connecticut State University well into his 80's. He is survived by his wife, Marie Beatrice (Arsenault) St. George of New Haven, a daughter, Susan St. George of Fairfield, CT, a sister Colette (San Giorgio) Cavaliere of Hamden, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, John Douglas San Giorgio (St. George), and another sister, Mary (San Giorgio) Sette. A memorial Catholic mass service will be held on Tuesday, October 1st at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Assumption, 81 Center Road (Rte. 114), Woodbridge, CT 06525. There are no calling hours.
