MCDONALD, SHAWN THOMAS Shawn Thomas McDonald beloved son of Thomas & Betty (Savarese) McDonald died October 2, 2013 at Hospice of Branford after a long and courageous battle with Cancer. He was born April 16, 1986, in New Haven. He was a graduate of Guilford High School, UMASS Dartmouth, Gateway and CCSU. He enjoyed golf, football and music. He was a member of the US Air Force and served with honor until his disability. He will be deeply missed by friends the extended King family and maternal grandmother Anna Savarese and Aunt Shirley Savarese of Northford, Aunt Janet Savarese and friend Kenneth Hoydilla of North Haven & Uncle Robert & Aunt Marilyn Savarese of Milford, and Cousin Robert Savarese Jr. of East Haven.. He was pre-deceased by his brother Michael, maternal grand father George Savarese, paternal grandparents Marion & Donald McDonald and Cousin Edward DePino Jr.. He was honored, loved and will always be a part of the 9th Communications Squadron at Beale Air Force Base. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. George Church, Guilford on Monday morning at 10:00 (everyone is asked to go directly to the church). Interment with military honors will follow at Alder Brook Cemetery, Guilford. Friends may call at the Hawley Lincoln Memorial, 1315 Boston Post Rd, Guilford on Sunday from 4-8 PM.
