Mollie (Lee) Horwitz, 88, of West Haven and formerly of New Haven, CT and Pompano Beach, FL, devoted wife of the late Arnold Horwitz, died on Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013. Born in New Haven, Jan. 5, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Samuel & Ida (Cohen) Lee. Beloved mother of Robert (Jeanie) Horwitz of New Haven, Penny Gold of Roswell, GA, the late Paul Horwitz (Mindy Horwitz of Cheshire, CT). Dear sister of the late Virginia Greenhouse. Cherished grandmother of Seth & Mary Beth Horwitz, Alyson & Joshua Smith, Jenny Gold, Scott Horwitz. Treasured great-grandmother of Alexandra and Leah. Mollie graduated from the University of CT in 1946, and her pursuit of knowledge continued throughout her life as she traveled the world with her husband, Arnold, enjoyed completing the daily crossword puzzles, and volunteered as a member of the Urban League, the American Red Cross, and with local law enforcement organizations in South Florida. Mollie and Arnold were long-time members of the Fort Lauderdale Bridge Club.
Funeral Services at B'nai Jacob Memorial Park, Wintergreen Ave., New Haven THURSDAY afternoon (TODAY) at 2:00 o'clock. Memorial Contributions may be sent to the , 2075 Silas Deane Highway, Suite 100, Rocky Hill, CT 06067. A Period of Mourning will be observed at 90 Mumford Rd., New Haven, Thursday following the funeral until 8 p.m., Friday 12 Noon - 5 p.m., Saturday, 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Funeral arrangements in care of Robert E.
