Julia Cotto Obituary

COTTO, JULIA Julia Cotto of Durham died peacefully November 5, 2013 at Connecticut Hospice surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Luis Cotto. Devoted mother of Natividad Cotto, Nancy Cotto-Bowles, Elsie Rodriguez, Hector, Florencio, Reinaldo and Samuel Cotto and the late Zoraida Vega, Jose and Daniel Cotto. Also survived by 19 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, 9 sisters and 1 brother. Predeceased by one brother. Julia was born in Puerto Rico May 1, 1933 to the late Benigno Velazquez and Natividad Velazquez-Diaz. She was a loving and caring person who took great joy and pride in raising her children and caring for anyone who came into to her home. Visiting hours will be Friday from 4-8pm. at the IOVANNE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 11 Wooster Pl. A prayer service will be held at 7pm. Graveside burial services will be held Saturday morning at 10:00 at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Whitney Ave. Hamden. Sign Julia’s guest book online at www.iovanne.com.
