Daniel Cavallaro Obituary
CAVALLARO, DANIEL Daniel Cavallaro, 87, of North Haven, died peacefully at his home on Sunday, May 4, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Jane McGinnity Cavallaro, whom he adored. Daniel was born in Bristol on September 17, 1926, a son of the late Frank and Mary Civitello Cavallaro, and had resided in West Haven for much of his life before moving to North Haven in 1984. He was a machine operator for Southern Connecticut Gas Company, retiring in 1989, and was a proud WWII Army Veteran of the Pacific Theatre. He is survived by his loving children, Judy L. (Kenneth) Jefferson, and Raymond Cavallaro of North Haven; two beloved granddaughters, Maureen A. (David) Kos of North Haven and Michelle L. Demery of Wallingford; and his treasured great-grandchildren, Andrew and Jane Kos. He was predeceased by eight sisters: Josephine Giannotti, Rose Gentilla, Jennie Vergati, Antoinette Tyler, Theresa, Anna and Rachel Cavallaro, and Loretta Consiglio. Daniel’s family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. His funeral procession will leave the funeral home on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. for a funeral service at Zion Lutheran Church, 235 Pond Hill Rd., Wallingford, at 10:00 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow in Centerville Cemetery, Hamden.
