Dr. Pearson saved my life . I first meet him in November 1969 ,he diagnosed me with stage 4 Hodgkins with only 3 months to live. He was kind and wonderful to a very scared 12 year old, because of him I have had a wonderful life and am now 66 years old. God bless him . The was one of the best .

Doc was a great inspiration to all of the Clown Docs at Yale New Haven Hospital and at The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp. His tremendous heart, playfulness and amazing spirit will never be forgotten. We will remember him always with tremendous admiration and love.

Howard "Doc" Pearson was a special friend to many people. He took time to show interest in people. My sister and I will never forget Polar Bear Swimming at 6 am, walking with him around the lake, or taking his mother's Chevy Nova "butterscotch" up the road for Ice Cream. Doc had a great sense of humor, and sharp wit. Despite his success he was humble and down to earth. He was proud to be an Eagle Scout, and exemplified what that stood for. I am thankful for his guidance in life, and the many laughs we shared.

Thinking of Pearson Pond now, and the totem poles on display at the camp. Spending time in Orange, the Sleeping Giant, the antics of a certain Bichon, Newman's Own lemonade, and conversations over coffee at the breakfast table when there'd be an opportunity to visit all come to mind.
What an amazing, inspiring life! His impact... immeasurable. My sincere condolences to the Pearson family.

A giant in American Pediatrics and a cherished colleague to many of his colleagues, faculty and students, he was beloved by his patients and their families but was simply "Doc" to former patients at the Hole in the Wall Camp, which he helped found.
