John Turner Obituary

NEWTON - John W. Turner Jr., 85, of Newton, died Friday, March 7, 2014, at Newton Medical Center.

Born in Paterson, Mr. Turner lived in Paterson and West Milford then lived in Wayne for 29 years before moving to Newton. He was an architectural draftsman for 35 years, retiring in 1991 from Merle Eisenstein in Clifton. Mr. Turner served in the National Guard.

The son of the late John Turner Sr. and Loretta (Minsky) Turner, Mr. Turner is survived by his wife, Irene Turner, whom he married in 1959; his niece, Elaine DiBella; his nephew, Christopher Ramsden; and his niece, Erin Jerman.

A memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 22, at Saint Matthew the Apostle Parish, 335 Dover Chester Road, Randolph. A memorial visitation will be held from 10 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High St., Newton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bristol Glen Fellowship Fund, 200 Bristol Glen Drive, Newton, NJ 07860. Online condolences may be offered at www.smithmccrackenfuneralhome.com.
