WANTAGE - Patsy Marrocco, 94, died after a short illness at his home on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013.
Born to Guiseppi and Maria Marrocco in Philadelphia, Pa., he lived in Italy during his youth, then lived in Hawthorne before moving to Wantage in 2003. Mr. Marrocco served with the United States Army during World War II and then worked as a twister for Boris Kroll Jacqards in Paterson for many years before retiring in 1988. He was a member of the Columbus Circle in Hawthorne and the Pvt. Charles Auberger American Legion Post 213 in Sussex. He was a doting father, grandfather and great-grandfather and enjoyed spending time with his family. Mr. Marrocco was predeceased by his wife, Carmela Marrocco (2003), and two grandchildren, Gabriel Joseph and Joseph Quinton Marrocco. He was the devoted father of Joseph M. Marrocco, of Wantage, Patrick Marrocco, of Ward, Colo., and Mary Ann Probst, of Wantage. Cherished by six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The family will receive their friends at Ferguson Funeral Home, 27 Third St., Sussex, on Thursday, Oct. 3, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 4, at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Cedar Lawn Cemetery, Paterson. Memorial gifts to the Wantage First Aid Squad, P.O. Box 721, Wantage, NJ 07461; the Beemerville Fire Department, 227 Route 519, Wantage, NJ 07461; or Beemerville First Presbyterian Church, 226 Route 519, Wantage, NJ 07461 would be appreciated.
