VanTassel, Anna Marie*  
NEWTON -- Anna Marie (Brewer) Van Tassel, 84, passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2015, at the Barn Hill Care Center in Newton. She was born on Sept. 11, 1930, to the late Floyd W. and Ada H. (Ritenauer) Brewer. She was a longtime resident of Franklin. Anna was a cook for the Franklin and Hardyston Township Board of Education for many years before retiring in 2002. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Franklin. She enjoyed her family and cooking, and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. Anna was predeceased by her husband, Garfield Van Tassel, in 1997 and her brothers, Hazel, Kenzel, and her sister, Winifred. Anna is survived by her sons, Garfield Van Tassel Jr. and his wife, Virginia, of Franklin, Mark Van Tassel and his wife, Michelle, of Vernon, and David Van Tassel and his wife, Dale, of Lyman, S.C.; her cherished seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; her four brothers, Frank, Charles, John and Elwood; her two sisters, Mary Ann and Dorothy; and her many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services on Monday, April 27, at 11 a.m. at F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, 1 Main St., Franklin. Interment at the North Hardyston Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be on Sunday, April 26, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Barn Hill Care Center, 249 High St., Newton, NJ 07860. Vassallo, Donald F.*  
STILLWATER - Donald F. Vassallo, 78, of Stillwater, died Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at Karen Ann Quinlan Home for Hospice in Fredon. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Mr. Vassallo was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving for 22 years from 1955 to 1978. After retiring from the Air Force, he was an instructor of computer programming for Chubb Institute in Parsippany before his retirement. Mr. Vassallo was a professional calligrapher and his artwork was included in the published books of Robert A. Heinlein. He loved photography and photographed many weddings. A New York Giants football fan, Mr. Vassallo was also a trivia buff. The son of the late Dominic and Rose (Starr) Vassallo, Mr. Vassallo was predeceased by his wife, Carol Ann (Reeves) Vassallo, on Aug. 2, 2014; his daughter, Linda Noll, on Oct. 8, 2009; and his son, Michael F. Vassallo, on May 31, 2010. He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Jill Vassallo, and his granddaughter, Nicole Vassallo. An informal memorial gathering for all family and friends will be held at Post Time Pub, 25 Main St., Blairstown, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 2.
