HAMBURG - Agnes C. (Ronecker) Pires, 90, entered into eternal life peacefully on May 31, 2014, with her loving family by her side.
Agnes was born in Newark to Frederick and Agnes (McAllister) Ronecker. She was raised in Newark and had resided in Rockaway for many years prior to Hamburg. Agnes was best known to people as the secretary to the school principals at Thomas Jefferson School in Rockaway Borough. She enjoyed participating in the Rockaway Seniors during her time there.
Predeceasing Agnes were her husband, John Hooper, in 1958, and her second husband, Antonio Pires, in 2000. She is survived by her loving son, John Hooper, of Hamburg, previously of Sparta, and loving daughter, Christina Gordon and husband, Dennis, of Stockholm; cherished grandchildren, Jacqueline M. Santobianco, John Michael Hooper, Rachel A. Killeen and Christy M. Graham, who is expecting Agnes's first greatgrandchild.
Friends and family are invited Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., to Goble Funeral Home, 22 Main St., Sparta. A 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at St. Jude the Apostle Church in Hamburg, followed by interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
