Anna Chrustic

GREEN - Anna Chrustic, 83, of Green Township, died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, at her home. Born in Porubka, Republic of Slovakia, Anna came to the United States in 1946. She had resided in Jersey City and Piscataway for many years before moving to Green in 2005.

Daughter of the late George and Anna (Andrus) Mitro, Mrs. Chrustic was a seamstress and a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sibling and friend. She was a former parishioner of the St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church Highland Park. Anna enjoyed cooking, gardening and spending time with her loving family.

Anna was predeceased by her beloved husband, Jan Chrustic, in 1996, as well as her brother, George Mitro, and her sister, Mary Mitro. Survivors include her sons, John, of Bound Brook, and Thomas, and his wife, Erica Chrustic, of Green Township. Also surviving are her daughter, Grace, and her husband, the Honorable Sam Carroll, of Abilene, Texas; her six grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, at Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home, 156 Main St. (Route 206), Newton. Interment will immediately follow in the Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral services. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Emily from the Karen Ann Quinlan Center of Hope Hospice and Stephanie from the VNA of St. Clare's Hospital, as well as the many other caregivers, for their extraordinary care of Anna throughout this difficult time.
