August A. D'Angelo

ANDOVER TWP. - August A. D'Angelo, 89, of Andover Township, died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, at Newton Medical Center.

Born in Dumont, Mr. D'Angelo was a longtime resident of Sussex County. Mr. D was the owner of D'Angelo's Garden World in Andover Township for 40 years.

The son of the late Giacomo and Josephine (D'Ercole) D'Angelo, Mr. D'Angelo was predeceased by four sisters and three brothers. He is survived by his wife, Emmanuela (DiGennaro) D'Angelo; four children, Karen Young and husband, John, of Towaco, August D'Angelo and wife, Maria, of Andover Township, Glenn D'Angelo, of Landing, and Christopher D'Angelo and wife, Audrey, of Fredon; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He also is survived by two sisters, Mary Wallace and Marguerite Ferreira.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 7, at Our Lady of the Lake in Sparta. Interment will follow in Sparta Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High St., Newton.
