Britta P. Decker

GREEN - Britta P. Decker, 72, of Greendell, died Sunday, April 6, 2014, at home, following a courageous battle with multiple sclerosis.

Born in Mine Hill, Mrs. Decker was a longtime resident of Sussex County. She worked in the procurement department at Picatinny Arsenal in Rockaway Township before her retirement in 1985. A member of Yellow Frame Presbyterian Church, Mrs. Decker was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Green Township Fire Department. She loved animals, especially horses.

The daughter of the late Charles W. and Miriam B. (Britton) Jump, Mrs. Decker was predeceased by a daughter, Sherri Hansen, in 2013, and three brothers, Charles W. Jump Jr., Samuel Jump and Peter Jump. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Richard Decker, whom she married on Nov. 9, 1974; four children, Christi Pena, of Colorado, Jamie Decker and wife, Kelly, of Branchville, Cathi White and husband, Steve, of Indiana, and Steve Decker, of Indiana; one sister, Linda Pierson; and two nephews, Charles and John Pierson.

Memorial visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday, April 11, at Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High St., Newton, followed by a 4 p.m. memorial service. Inurnment will follow in Yellow Frame Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Association, 706 Haddonfield Road, Cherry Hill, NJ 08002.
