Carol Ann (Ford) Van Buren

WESTTOWN, N.Y. -- Carol Ann (Ford) Van Buren, 65, died Wednesday August 21, 2013 at Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown, N.Y. Carol, daughter of the late Joseph and Lorraine (Hosler) Ford, was born in Middletown, N.Y., on November 30, 1947.
While growing up on the family farm in Westtown, N.Y., Carol attended the Gardnerville one-room schoolhouse. As she continued to live her entire life on the family farm she always kept her home and heart open to all and was a second mom to many.
Carol served as the Town Of Minisink Clerk for the past 29 years while also owning and operating CVB Enterprises, Bookkeeping and Tax Preparation. An avid genealogist, Carol was the Minisink Town Historian and founder of the annual community event, "Minisink Heritage Days." Also as Town Historian, she was instrumental in the construction of the Log Cabin and the expansion of the town museum. Carol was a member of the Land of Lenape's Historical Group and the ladies auxiliary of Rutgers Engine Co. in Johnson, N.Y.
Carol is survived by her husband of 41 years, Donald Van Buren; children, Todd Van Buren and his wife, Charlene, of Westtown, N.Y., Stephanie McCall and her husband, John, of Clearwater, Fla., Susan Reddan and her husband, John, of Blooming Grove, N.Y., Jennifer Van Buren, of Saugerties, N.Y., Kimberly Van Buren, of Westtown, N.Y., and Adam Van Buren and his wife, Cheryl, of Orlando, Fla.; grandsons, Tyler and Christian Van Buren; brothers and sisters, Donna Danna, of Wingdale, N.Y., Joseph Ford Jr. and his wife, Sharon, of Westtown, N.Y., Betty Fiore, of Casa Grande, Ariz., Mary Alice Newell and her husband, Ed, of Ballston Lake, N.Y., Bonnie Jennings and her husband, Michael, of Dade City, Fla., Jo Ann Scott and her husband, Wayne, of Liberty, N.Y., Guy Ford, of Palm Coast, Fla., and Rocky Ford, of Glen Spey, N.Y.; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and an abundance of loving friends.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Aug. 26, 10 a.m., at Ferguson Funeral Home, 27 Third Street, Sussex. Interment will follow at Beemerville Cemetery, Wantage. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, Aug. 25 from 2 to 5 p.m.
