Franklin McCoy

SPARTA - Franklin McCoy, 89, passed away Monday, Oct. 7, 2013, at the home of his daughter, with his family by his side.
Born in New York City to Charles and Mary McCoy, he was raised in Bergenfield, and had been a resident of Sparta since 1977. Franklin was a self-employed carpenter for 50 years prior to his retirement in 1990.
Mr. McCoy was predeceased by his wife, Ann, in 2004, and two sisters, Marie Hoelter and Rosalie Petitte. Surviving him are two sons, Charles McCoy (Barbara), of Ridgefield Park, and John McCoy (Carol), of Napa, Calif; one cherished daughter, Jennifer Mohr (John), of Sparta; six loving grandchildren, Stacey Balser, Shannon Petteruti, Nicholas, Samantha, Kelsey and Olivia McCoy; four loving great-grandchildren, Ethan and Owen Giorgio, Camryn and Aubrey Balser; a brother, John Sterbinski; and a sister, Rita McCoy.
Family and friends are invited for visitation Friday, Oct. 11, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Goble Funeral Home, 22 Main St., Sparta. A funeral service will be held 8 p.m. Friday.
