George M. Radcliffe Sr.

DINGMANS FERRY, Pa. - George M. Radcliffe Sr., 75, of Dingmans Ferry, Pa., died Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, at Orange County Regional Medical Center in New York.

Born and raised in Paterson, N.J., George lived in Frankford Township for 10 years prior to moving to Dingmans Ferry in 1984; he was a 1957 graduate of Passaic Valley High School. Mr. Radcliff Sr. was a veteran of the United States Marines. He was employed by Lakeland Steel Erectors in Ridgefield, N.J., retiring in 1990; he was a member of the Iron Workers local 483 for more than 50 years. Mr. Radcliffe Sr. was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Dingmans Ferry and the American Legion in Milton, N.J.

The son of the late Squire and Dorothy (Getchius) Radcliffe, George also was predeceased by three children, Susan Boby (2012), Brian Radcliffe (2006) and Steven Radcliffe (2001). George Sr. is survived by his wife of 35 years, Elizabeth (Calpin) Radcliffe; three children, George Radcliffe Jr., Rebecca Gratcofsky, and son-in law Rick Boby, all of Dingmans Ferry, Pa.; 11 grandchildren; his brother, Charles Radcilffe, of Union Beach, N.J.; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 7, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 103 Delaware Crest, Dingmans Ferry. Interment will follow at Delaware Cemetery, Route 739, in Dingmans Ferry. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 6, at Wood Funeral Home, 16 Main St., Branchville.
