PLANTATION, Fla. - Gloria J. Geffken, of Plantation, Fla., and Montague, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2014, at the home of her daughter.
Born at home in Lake Hopatcong, she was the daughter of Serita (Lozier) and Arthur Gardner.
Gloria was raised in Lake Hopatcong, then lived in Sparta for 29 years before moving to Plantation, Fla., in 1978. She was a homemaker, but also helped run Ray's Gulf located in Sparta. This was a business that she owned and operated for many years with her husband, Raymond Fowler.
Gloria was the widow of Raymond Fowler, who died in 1971, and Preston George Geffken, who died in 1984. She also was predeceased by her son, Raymond, who passed in 2006.
She is survived by her daughter, Serita Benna and her husband, Martin, of Montague; daughter-in-law, Denise Fowler, of California; brother, Jack Gardner, of Texas; sister, Serita Killoran, of Lake Hopatcong; four grandchildren, Tina McCarrick and her husband, Craig, Carie Finigan and her husband, Troy, Raymond Fowler and Charles Fowler. Gloria also was blessed to have eight great-grandchildren, Ryan Fowler, Scott, Brian and Evan McCarrick, Masson and Kaiden Finigan, Charley and Jacob Fowler. In addition to Gloria's family, she also leaves behind so many friends that she had while living in Florida.
In accordance with Gloria's wishes, there will be no services.
