Helen R. Williams

SPARTA - Helen R. Williams, 93, passed away at Newton Medical Center on Friday, Oct. 18, 2013.

Born in Hamburg, she was the daughter of the late Oscar L. and Ada B. (Mann) Hosking. Helen had been a resident of Sparta for the past three years and prior to that had resided in Wantage.

For several years she was employed by the Newton Board of Education in the custodial department. Helen was a very active and devoted member of the Baleville Congregation Christian Church in Hampton. During her many years at the church she served in many capacities: she was the church historian, a Sunday school teacher and worked with the acolyte guild.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband, Albert Williams; a brother, Richard Hosking; and a grandson, Timothy Williams. She is survived by her sons, Thomas Williams and his wife, Helen, of Timberlake, N.C., and Bruce Williams and his wife, Susan, of Sussex. Also three granddaughters, four great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren, and one great-great step-grandson.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, at Balveville Congregation Christian Church, 6 Church Road, Newton, (Hampton Township). Visitation will be held at the church Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment to follow at North Hardyston Cemetery.
