Jeff "Spanky" A. Mason

SANDYSTON - Jeff "Spanky" A. Mason, 56, of Sandyston, died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, in Wantage.

Born in Newton, Jeff was a longtime resident of Sussex County. He was the senior wildlife manager at Black River for the State of New Jersey Division of Fish and Game for 18 years. Jeff was an avid hunter and fisherman.

The son of the late Richard Mason Jr., Jeff is survived by his mother, Marian Mason, of Montague; three brothers, Richard Mason and wife, Beverly, of Newton, Robert Mason and wife, Maryann, of Stillwater, and Thomas Mason and wife, Laura, of Hampton; his companion, Amy Heater, of Wantage; nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; and his beloved dog, Mikey.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, at Layton Cemetery in Layton and are under the direction of Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High St., Newton.
